Camp Cottage is situated between Ross-on-Wye and Hereford, high on a hill next to an old Roman/Stone Age camp which affords it a view of some 50 miles into Wales. It is ideal for anglers as fishing on the River Wye is a short 20 minute walk away.
Camp Cottage will appeal to lovers of the area and those seeking a respite from the stresses of daily life. The cottage provides accommodation for two people and well trained dogs.
Access up to the Cottage is on a track road passing through a farm which takes you up to the camp. You have to pass over three cattle grids so any low based wheeled cars would not find this suitable.
The Cottage has electric heaters and facilities for an open fire in a beautiful French stove. The accommodation is laid out as follows and sleeps two people very comfortably.
Entry to the property through the front door brings you into the dining area. We have kept the stone and wooden beams so as to keep the natural feel about the place. A comfy sofa, French stove and dining table/chairs welcomes you.
The Kitchen is on the left of the dining area and is fitted with electric fan oven, dishwasher, microwave, automatic washing/dryer machine, fridge/freezer and all other kitchen bits and pieces.
To the right hand side of the dining area is a large extension. This was built as an artist’s studio and it has exquisite views. This room has a wonderful oak floor, a pine set of drawers, two large settees and corner pine unit with a LCD TV with freeview
First Floor. The stairs are positioned in the dining room and take you up to a bedroom which has a exposed beams, is fully carpeted and has a double bed, a bedside cabinet and a pine pine set of drawers and portable TV. A built in cupboard is on the landing outside the bedroom. The view from the window is of the garden and the Wye Valley. Sheets are provided.
The Bathroom, does not actually have a bath but does have a very large shower area. Measuring 3ft x 5ft. The bathroom also has a bidet, and electric razor point and wall fan heater. Spendid views of the garden again from the window. The beauty of this property is that it is isolated, the nearest dwelling is 400 yards away, so peace and tranquillity are the order of the day.
The Garden is mainly lawn and is set in a third of an acre..Well behaved pets are welcomed, but be aware that there are lots of sheep around, therefore they must be kept within the property. The garden has been fenced for their safety. The garden is a sun trap and an ideal spot to spend a lazy day reading and barbecuing on the patio in the evening. A fantastic huge marble table with benches are on the patio for your comfort.
